Unlocking Opportunity Tour 2026: Detroit Day 1

Join the American Property Owners Alliance for the latest stop on our Unlocking Opportunity Tour at Second Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit on May 30! Our program will explore the role of homeownership in building and maintaining generational wealth and addressing wealth gaps affecting generations of Black families. We will also discuss the unique challenges Detroit residents face on the path to homeownership and steps and tools available to save for a home and ensure families successfully build and maintain wealth for years to come.
The panel will feature a diverse group of industry professionals, government officials, financial services, and community leaders speaking on the importance of homeownership, creditworthiness, and wealth gaps affecting generations of Black families. They will also discuss the homebuying process, including how to save for a down payment, creditworthiness, and questions to raise with real estate agents, lenders, underwriters, and inspectors.
