Act Now to Improve Housing Supply and Affordability

Tell Congress to Address Today’s Housing Challenges

More than half of America’s homeowners and renters struggle to afford housing costs. We need urgent action to increase the supply of affordable homes and rentals.

Fortunately, two strong, commonsense solutions are already on the table to address rising housing costs – and Congress has the power to pass both before the year ends.

The Neighborhood Homes Investment Act would put 500,000 family homes on the market in the next 10 years. This legislation would create a new federal tax credit to incentivize the development and renovation of family housing in urban, suburban, and rural neighborhoods most in need of investment.

The Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act would expand the existing Low-Income Housing Tax Credit to encourage investment in the development and preservation of affordable housing. Increasing this housing credit would create nearly 2 million additional affordable homes in the U.S.
