Tell Congress to Pass the Neighborhood Homes Investment Act

America faces a growing housing supply shortage of about 6 million homes that is linked to a drastic rise in home prices. Without action now, this shortage will continue to worsen, putting homeownership out of reach for many Americans.

The Neighborhood Homes Investment Act (NHIA) is bipartisan legislation with over 120 cosponsors that would put more affordable family homes on the market. Specifically, this legislation would create a new federal tax credit to incentivize the development and renovation of family housing in urban, suburban, and rural neighborhoods most in need of investment.

The NHIA would put 500,000 family homes on the market in the next 10 years, increasing access to the benefits of homeownership for middle-income Americans.

The NHIA passed the House in 2021 and has momentum in 2022, but there are only a handful of legislative days left this year for Congress to get this legislation over the finish line. Please join the effort to protect access to homeownership and strengthen communities across the country.

Please use this form to contact your Member of Congress and Senators today and urge them to prioritize passing the Neighborhood Homes Investment Act!
