Americans have long called for solutions to address today’s low housing supply and lack of affordability. We are glad to see the Biden-Harris Administration build upon and further implement its Housing Supply Action Plan to help solve these issues and lower costs for renters and buyers alike.
Under the administration’s latest actions, more families and individuals will be able to access a space that meets their needs and budget – and faster. These steps will help remove barriers to affordable housing, allow for more housing types to be built, expedite permitting and approval of new developments, and more.
We thank the administration for taking meaningful action to address this nonpartisan issue, and we look forward to the future of more equitable housing access. However, more must be done to rein in housing costs and provide needed relief for struggling renters, buyers and homeowners nationwide. We need policymakers to prioritize pro-housing solutions that will change the trajectory of our housing market and improve affordability for years to come.
